Is there a fee

Yes. The fee for pro hac vice admission in Montana is $345. The application fee is $200, the Office of Disciplinary Counsel charge is $125, and the Lawyers' Fund assessment is $20.

How do I apply?

Send the Application and fees to the State Bar of Montana. The State Bar will certify the number of appearances the applicant has been granted previously under this rule, and will otherwise verify the good standing of both the applicant and local Montana counsel. Upon completion of this review, which takes approximately 5 business days, the State Bar of Montana will send the completed application to the appropriate court. The applicant should also file a Motion and Proposed Order with a copy of the application and confirmation document from the State Bar attached in the court where admission is sought. The court will enter an order regarding the application and mail a copy to the applicant, Montana counsel, and the State Bar of Montana.
