What documents do I need?

At a minimum, you will need a Registration Statement with the Office of Court Administration and an Application to the Appellate Division. Individual courts may have additional requirements, and chambers should be contacted for further direction. These requirements may include a Verified Petition for Admission Pro Hac Vice, and certificates of good standing from the jurisdictions in which the out-of-state attorney is licensed, dated within 30 days of the petition.

How do I apply?

Check with the chambers in which you are applying for specific instructions concerning what is required, in addition to the Verified Petition for Admission Pro Hac Vice, Registration Statement, and Application to the Appellate Division. Additional items may include a letter from the disciplinary body in the states where you are licensed, and/or a current resume.

Is local counsel required

Local counsel appearing as counsel of record is required as the basis for out-of-state counsel's admission pro hac vice.
